Egypt Discovers Two Rare Early Dynastic Period Tombs: Ministry
The discoveries in Minya province are shedding light on the evolution of ancient funerary architecture, Egypt's Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy noted.
🟠The first tomb: an unusual geometric structure that could reflect early engineering ideas that eventually evolved into pyramid building;
🟠The second tomb: a similar design but remains in better condition because it was not affected by later stone quarrying;
Excavations in the Jabal al-Tayr area also revealed several other burials.
