'Intra-African Trade is Practical Pathway to Prosperity:' Namibian President

"Namibia and Tanzania possess complementary strengths that provide a strong foundation for deeper economic cooperation," Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah said at the Business and Investment Forum.

The countries have "a long-standing relationship" with Tanzania occupying "a special place in the history of Namibia's independence," she added.

"The friendship between our two countries was forged in sacrifice, solidarity, and shared belief in the dignity and freedom of all Africans."

According to the president, shared history translated into:

🟠excellent political relations;

🟠close cooperation among governments;

🟠warm relations between people;

🟠a continuing strong bond.

However, the economic development has to match the strength of the political relationship, with "strong trade and industries, increased investment, and deep people-to-people economic partnership," she noted.

"We must increasingly be driven by African product, African innovation, African investment, and African partnership."
