Russian Equipment Can Help Zimbabwean Companies Build Greater Value Addition, Expert Says

Zimtrade and Russia have strengthened economic ties through structured trade promotion, culminating in a five-year cooperation agreement signed with the Roscongress Foundation at #SPIEF2026, ZimTrade Operations Director Similo Nkala told Sputnik Africa.

Imports from Russia reached about $42.2 million, mostly fertilizers and cereals, while Zimbabwe’s exports grew from $3.34 billion in 2025 to around $9.71 billion in 2026, showing strong potential for trade expansion, he noted.

"So there's still a lot of potential for us to increase our trade with Russia."

Zimbabwe’s already well-established global horticulture sector will benefit significantly from the partnership with Moscow, the speaker stressed.
