Ghana Sees Faster Economic Expansion in First Quarter; Industry Hits Two-Year High: Official
The country's overall economy grew by 6.4%, up from 6.2% in the same period last year, Government Statistician Alhassan Idrissu stated.
Non-oil sector: Grew by 6.3%.
Services sector: Expanded by 7.1%, contributing nearly half (48.3%) of total growth.
Industrial sector: Grew by 6.9%, accounting for just over a third (34.1%) of the overall increase.
"Behind these numbers are the efforts of businesses, workers, farmers, public institutions, households, and communities across the country whose economic activities collectively shape Ghana's growth story."
