Tanzania Must Invest in Both Small & Large-Scale Nuclear Plants: Expert

This step may secure electricity supply twenty-four hours a day, reducing reliance on hydropower and heavily boosting industrial and mining sectors, Ali Masubi, Tanzanian international affairs analyst, told Sputnik Africa.

The cooperation with the Russia's Rosatom may bring high technologies and extensive expertise to Tanzania — "a greatest advantage" for the country in the nuclear industry, he noted.

With vast uranium reserve and joint projects with Russia, Tanzania can transform itself into a regional energy hub, securing significant economic and geopolitical leverage across Africa amid the continent's surging demand in nuclear power, the speaker stressed.
