Ghana Shifts to Domestic Crude for Local Tema Refinery as Iran War Disrupts Global Fuel Markets
The government will use its share from three offshore fields (Jubilee, TEN, and Sankofa) and ask producers like Tullow and Kosmos to supply up to 33,000 barrels daily to the Tema Oil Refinery.
The Tema refinery is currently processing about 28,000 bpd and will reach its full capacity of 45,000 bpd later this month, but Ghana's fuel demand of 135,000 bpd far exceeds domestic production, according to Managing Director Edmond Kombat.
