Speaking at the foundation-laying ceremony, Algerian Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb highlighted major continental projects, including the Trans-Saharan road, fiber optic interconnections, and improvements to air transport and logistics to connect interior regions and boost trade.
Earlier, in 2020, Algeria established the Algerian Agency for International Cooperation with a $1 billion budget to finance humanitarian and development projects in African countries, particularly in the Sahel.
