Cross-Border Mobile Money Inflows to Tanzania Surge 33.45% to $266 Million in 2025: Central Bank
The Bank of Tanzania Governor Emmanuel Tutuba attributed the surge to the following:
🟠 Expanding digital payments ecosystems and a supportive regulatory environment;
🟠 New market entrants and product innovation;
🟠 Strengthened oversight through enhanced surveillance and risk management frameworks.
Tanzania is also working with EAC and SADC partners to harmonize regulations and deepen regional payment integration, Tutuba noted.
