Russia & Tanzania Forge Geology Pact to Unlock Untapped Mineral Resources
Russia and Tanzania see strong potential for cooperation in geology and subsoil use, Russian Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Dmitry Tetenkin said following the meeting of representatives of the two countries.
Tanzania's country's mineral wealth — gold, cobalt, nickel, copper, tin, diamonds and hydrocarbons — is poorly understood, Tanzanian Mining Minister Anthony Mavunde clarified.
"Russia has extensive experience in geological exploration. We view your country as a leading partner in this area," the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment quoted the Tanzanian minister as saying.
The parties agreed to share information and prepare further steps for collaboration.
