Belarus Wants to Find Serious Foothold in West Africa in Ghana: Belarusian President

Aleksandr Lukashenko pledged to help Ghana achieve food security by sharing Belarusian agricultural expertise and technology, while expanding military-technical cooperation and specialist training. In return, Belarus seeks stable cocoa imports and a logistics hub for its goods in Ghana.

Following the talks, the two countries signed a package of agreements:

▪ establishment of a Joint Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation;

▪ visa-free travel for holders of diplomatic and service passports;

▪ MoU on agricultural cooperation.

"The core philosophy of our movement in Africa, our work in Africa, is that we are not neocolonialists —we come to you as friends," Lukashenko emphasized.

Ghana's president invited Lukashenko to his farm, and the Belarusian leader thanked him for the invitation.
