Congolese Authorities Warn About Possible Worsening of Situation With Ebola
Latest developments in the Ebola outbreak caused by the Bundibugyo strain:
DRC
▪ "An increase in cases could be recorded if appropriate measures are not implemented very quickly," warned the report from the Congolese Ministry of Health, published on June 6.
▪ The country's health authorities reported a significant number of confirmed cases between May 14 and 23, suggesting "an increased transmission from a likely common source."
▪ The number of confirmed cases has risen to 515, including 91 deaths, according to the same source.
▪ Three new patients have been declared recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 12.
Uganda
▪ Three new cases of Ebola were recorded at the end of the week, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 19, the Ministry of Health announced on Saturday.

The response is being organized:
▪ The Central African Republic will mobilize $19.5 million, to strengthen prevention measures throughout the country, authorities announced.
▪ Zimbabwe has pledged a donation of $1 million to Africa CDC, the AU's health agency, Foreign Minister Amon Murwira announced.
