SA to Strengthen Immigration Laws, Improve Safety: President
Addressing concerns about illegal immigration, border security, public services and employment, Cyril Ramaphosa outlined government's plans to strengthen migration management while upholding South Africa's constitutional values and international obligations.
The goal is a South Africa "where every person who enters the country does so lawfully," he said in an address to the nation.
To achieve this, the following measures will be implemented:
🟠cracking down on violations of immigration, labor, and other laws;
🟠preventing irregular and illegal entry into the country;
🟠stamping out corruption within the immigration system.
"Finally, we will continue to engage other countries, including our sister countries on the African continent, to forge a broader response to migration challenges across our region and the continent."
