'Big Storm' May Come as US Plans Ebola Space on Kenyan Military Base: Kenyan Parliamentary Secretary
A proposed medical facility is planned inside a Kenyan Air Force base in Nanyuki/Laikipia, a region historically part of Kenya’s colonial highlands and considered extremely valuable, lawyer Ahmad Abdulaziz Kadhi, told Sputnik Africa.
"These things are not very well explained to people," he added, noting that local residents were largely unaware of the facility until recently.
Such bases are often shared among multiple Western countries, and sometimes private contractors, making it unclear who controls activities on the site, the speaker stressed.
"And there's no way of screening a place or knowing who goes in and who goes out," Kadhi noted, adding that the secrecy and the lack of information is "the biggest concern."
