'Private-Sector Success Depends on Health of People of SA,' Says Disease Control Fund Head

"It’s both an opportunity for the private sector to bring innovation, capability and resources, but it also reflects the fact that the private-sector success depends on the health of the people of South Africa," Executive Director of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria Peter Sands told Sputnik Africa.

With the launch of lenacapavir, South Africa now has "the opportunity to accelerate the end of HIV," he added.

South African VP Paul Mashatile has met this week with Private Sector Captains Industry to strengthen the South African National AIDS Council and improve the implementation of the national HIV, TB, and STIs plan.
