India is willing to share its telecommunications technology and regulatory experience with developing nations, a senior Indian government official said on the sidelines of the SPIEF 2026.
India has built its own 4G and 5G technology stack and moved to a fully automated spectrum licensing system — reforms that enabled one of the world's fastest 5G rollouts, Dr. Revathi Mannepalli, Joint Wireless Advisor at India's Department of Telecommunications and a candidate for Director of the ITU's Radio Communication Bureau, told Sputnik.
She highlighted India's digital public infrastructure — including Aadhaar-linked mobile payments and direct government benefit transfers — as models ready to be adopted by other countries.
On AI, she pointed to India-developed software that detects and blocks spam and fraud calls in real time, as well as AI's growing role in managing complex satellite interference in next-generation networks.
