Africa Has Resources, But is Becoming 'Field of Exploitation': Togolese Economist

"Incomplete economic system, kept on a drip of colonialist will," is trying to put pressure on the continent through "the fundamental levers of the economy," Che Hellu-Lawson told Sputnik Africa.

The African continent holds:

🟠about 30% of the world's mineral reserves;

🟠nearly 60% of uncultivated arable land;

🟠colossal energy resources.

However, it cannot fully benefit from them, the economist stressed.

To change this paradigm created by Western countries, African countries need "capital and a political will to transform Africa."
