SPIEF in Russia is 'Very Important to Africa': Ugandan Political Analyst
The arrival of the Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan to Moscow "is historically significant," Sultan Juma Kakuba, an associate professor at Kyambogo University in Uganda, head of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, told Sputnik Africa.
Her first official visit shows that "many African countries are trying to have a diversified partnership, that they are not exclusively relying on Western powers," the speaker noted.
The Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum #SPIEF2026 gives Samia Suluhu an opportunity to present what Tanzania has to offer, noting that it is also "a strategic investment agenda to a broader community, the international community," Kakuba said.
Tanzania has a "good potential" for Russian investment, the speaker said.
"And this investment can be beneficial to both states, Tanzania and Russia itself."
