Kenya Sees Protests and Brutalization Over US-Linked Ebola Facility

Carrying placards and a symbolic coffin, demonstrators accused the government of inadequate transparency over the infectious disease facility, demanding the public's right to know, a Sputnik Africa correspondent reported.

The protest coincided with court proceedings, during which the judge ordered the government to disclose all agreements, approvals, risk assessments, and protocols related to the Kenya–US Ebola facility.

Kenyans will continue resisting the project unless authorities provide clear information about its purpose, safety standards, and operational framework, activist Ojilo Odhiambo told supporters.

Despite the criticism, the Ministry of Health maintains the project strengthens Kenya's disease surveillance, emergency response, and quarantine capacity for potential outbreaks.
