Mali & Burkina Faso to 'Thwart Terrorist Infiltration Attempts,' Says Malian MP
The visit to Bamako by Burkina Faso's Security Minister, Mahamadou Sana, aims to strengthen cooperation in securing borders, VP of the Defense and Security Commission of Mali’s National Transitional Council Fousseynou Ouattara told Sputnik Africa:
"Our borders are often quite open along certain sections. During the attacks of April 25, we saw that many terrorists were able to infiltrate our cities without attracting the attention of the security forces. These are lessons that have been learned," he said.
