Saving Wildlife & Ecosystems: Kenya Hosts Annual Fund-Raising Rhino Charge Race—President
The event contributes to environmental conservation, community livelihoods, and reducing human-wildlife conflicts, William Ruto said on social media as Kenya hosted the 37th edition of the annual off-road 4x4 competition.
Since its inception, the event has raised over KSh2.8 billion (approximately $21.6 million) for the Rhino Ark Kenya Charitable Trust, funding more than 800km of electric fencing to protect fragile ecosystems and transform the lives of over 90,000 families, he noted.
The competition supports the trust's wildlife protection efforts across Kenya, according to the event's official portal.
