Ethiopia's Election Matters to Nation & Continent Alike: Head of AU Observation Mission

The seventh round of Ethiopia's national general elections, scheduled for June 1, carries significance extending well beyond the country's borders and even beyond the AU's headquarters, Uhuru Kenyatta, former Kenyan President and the head of AU election observation mission, said.

The AU's mission, comprising of 73 delegates from 37 African countries, is fully prepared to monitor the voting process, he noted.

Kenyatta called for an election that reflects the free will of the people, unfolds peacefully, supports the country's development journey, and strengthens democracy.
