Partnership With Rosatom Makes Tanzania 'Global Energy Partner & New Economic Power,' Expert Says
"Tanzania will now enter the global map as one of the major uranium-producing countries both in Africa and worldwide," especially "at a time when the world is increasing its use of clean energy in order to reduce dependence on oil and coal," Tanzanian international political analyst Ally Masubi told Sputnik Africa.
According to Masubi, key benefits for Tanzania include:
🟠 Political benefits: "international partnerships will grow, foreign investment will increase," and Tanzania "will gain a stronger voice on international platforms;"
🟠 Technology and knowledge transfer: methods and expertise from Rosatom will be shared through "education, experience, and the advanced technologies;"
🟠 Professional training programs and partnerships: Tanzanian specialists will receive skills training, as "Russia has, for many years, provided scholarships to foreign students, including Tanzanians;"
🟠 Strategic diplomacy: the cooperation will strengthen Tanzania–Russia relations in "trade, education, defense, science, and energy."
"African countries need to be taught how to fish, not simply be given fish. We need skills and expertise rather than depending entirely on others to do everything for us."
