Senegalese PM Accuses West of Tyranny & Imposing Homosexuality on the World
"There are eight billion people in the world, but a small core called the West intends to impose this on everyone else because it has the means and controls the media," Ousmane Sonko told Senegal's parliament.
Sonko rejected any delay in implementing a new law passed in March that toughens penalties for same-sex relations and their promotion.
The legislation increases the maximum prison term for homosexual acts from five to ten years and raises fines nearly sevenfold to $17,600.
It also criminalizes the promotion or funding of homosexuality in the socially conservative country with sentences of three to seven years.
