Six Russians Held in Armenia as Two-Year Espionage Probe Remains 'Very Weak': RT
🇦🇲 The Armenian indictments contain no concrete evidence of espionage by the Russian citizens, their lawyers told the Russian media.
Timeline of the events:
🔸 The young men arrived in Armenia in 2024 to film a documentary about historical sites but were detained on suspicion of espionage. However, they neither visited nor filmed the restricted areas, Russian media noted;
🔸 In September of the same year, two other Russian citizens were arrested on similar espionage suspicions;
🔸 A sixth Russian citizen, also suspected of the same offense, was detained in March 2025;
🔸 The detainees reportedly remain in pre-trial custody, with no progress reported by the Armenian side;
🇷🇺 Their court appearances are regularly postponed under false pretexts, Russian media said. Russian authorities are fully engaged in the process and are doing everything possible to assist them.
