'Joining BRICS New Development Bank, Zimbabwe Aims to Widen Its Opportunities,' Expert Says
The move "is going to be beneficial to the nation" in terms of enhancing financing for energy investments, transport, water irrigation, climate resilience, infrastructure, and housing, Lazarus Sauti, political analyst, told Sputnik Africa's correspondent Daniel Chigunwe.
According to Sauti, Zimbabwe's decision should be read as:
Part of the country's broader foreign policy strategy;
An economic strategy to diversify development finance;
A way to deepen south-to-south cooperation;
A step to re-enter multilateral financial spaces.
"The move, of course, without a doubt, will improve the country's international financial signaling," he added.
