International health aid has already fallen by 40% due to massive funding cuts, John Dramani Mahama emphasized.

Ghana has lost nearly $180 million following the suspension of US aid programs, he pointed out.

However, the "Accra Reset" health program, running since 2025, shows local resources can replace the old donor-dependency system, the Ghanaian president stated.

This project, launched by the Head of State, rests on three pillars:

an independent panel tasked with proposing reforms,

a coordination observatory to harmonize the strategies of major global health institutions,

a mechanism to finance local production and bio-innovation.

These statements were made at the 79th World Health Assembly, which is being held in Geneva, Switzerland, from May 18 to 23.
