Ethiopia's Abiy Ahmed & Aliko Dangote Review Progress of Gode Fertilizer Factory
The pace of work underway at various parts of the Gode fertilizer factory project is encouraging, the prime minister wrote on social media following a joint tour of the construction site with the Nigerian investor.
Construction is progressing according to the plan, Abiy Ahmed added, reflecting commitment and cooperation on this major national project.
Beyond infrastructure development, the strategic investment will accelerate agricultural transformation, ensure food sovereignty, and significantly reduce dependence on imported fertilizer, he noted.
The factory, which broke ground in October 2025, is being built with a capacity to produce 3 million tonnes of urea fertilizer annually.
