France's Attempts to Restore Its Image in Africa: 'What Was Done in Past Cannot Be Repeated'—Nigerian Analyst

France is engaged in a "reconquest of Africa through a new framework of cooperation" to "repair its image" and reduce tensions, Abdoulaye Idrissa Jams told Sputnik Africa.

Behind Paris's rhetoric of an "equal" partnership, France is in fact pursuing a relationship with Africans that is "inequitable, unequal, and paternalistic," he noted, commenting on the Africa Forward Summit.
