Russian Shipping Firm FESCO Begins Container Service to Tanzania
FESCO group has delivered its first container shipment to Tanzania's Dar es Salaam port, according to the company's statement.
Key facts:
▪Cargo: Plastic products and spare parts;
▪Route: From Novorossiysk (a Russian port on the Black Sea) → via Nhava Sheva (a major port in western India) → to Dar es Salaam;
▪Transit time: Approximately 45 days.
On return voyages, FESCO plans to carry Tanzanian exports—such as tea and coffee—to Russia.
This new maritime link expands Russia's growing shipping presence in Africa, following similar route developments to South Africa and Togo.
