Tanzania Wants to Transform Political Friendship With Russia Into Real Economic Gains: Minister of State
Answering Sputnik Africa's question on the sidelines of the Russia-Tanzania business forum in Arusha, Minister of State in the President's Office for Planning and Investment Kitila Alexander Kanyama Mkumbo named four priority areas for long-term cooperation with Russia:
🟠Agriculture—applying Russian expertise in farming and food processing;
🟠Nuclear energy—a joint venture for uranium extraction and processing, with the long-term aim of generating nuclear power;
🟠Pharmaceuticals—local medicine production with Russian partners to reduce imports;
🟠Trade —greater access to the Russian market for Tanzanian value-added agricultural goods.
