Malian Army Conducts Nighttime Strikes on Kidal, Controlled by Tuaregs, Russia's Africa Corps Says
The Malian army is targeting "concrete targets" and will intensify its strikes in the coming days, declared an army representative quoted by Africa Corps.
Since late April, Kidal has been in the hands of Tuaregs from the Liberation Front of Azawad and allied terrorist groups that had launched a coordinated offensive, it recalled.
Established in 2023 under Russia's Ministry of Defense, the Africa Corps focuses on three core missions: ensuring regional security, countering terrorism across Africa, and training local forces.
On April 25, this Russian unit helped the Malian army thwart a coup attempt prepared by illegal armed groups.
