AU Appoints Ex-Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo as Peace Envoy for the Horn of Africa
"President Obasanjo brings unparalleled experience, wisdom, and credibility to this important assignment," AU Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf said in a statement, announcing the appointment.
In his new capacity, Obasanjo will do the following tasks:
🟠engage with regional stakeholders to build confidence;
🟠sustain dialogue;
🟠support ongoing efforts toward lasting reconciliation.
