'Sudan’s Lack of Peace is Also Lack of Peace for Ethiopia': Ethiopian Scholar
The war in Sudan, which began on April 15, 2023, has turned the country into a battleground for forces with various political and economic interests, Political Researcher at Dilla University Dawit Mezgebe told Sputnik Africa.
Given that the consequences of the conflict are knocking at Ethiopia’s door, he noted that Addis Ababa, as the seat of the African Union, must play its part in bringing peace, even though doing so will not be easy.
“Ethiopia can bring lasting peace to Sudan by accommodating the interests of the actors to some extent,” he said.
The expert emphasized that peace in Sudan is a matter that should be emphasized as peace for the region, the continent and humanity in general.
