"It has been a good meeting, and indeed there are many opportunities. We continue learning and exchanging ideas," Blandina Kilama, Deputy Executive Secretary of the National Planning Commission, told Sputnik Africa on the sidelines of the Expert Consultations.

The meeting aims to advance the 2024 Russia–Tanzania agreement on trade and investment cooperation in sectors including "mining, agriculture, tourism, education, science and technology, among others," Fred Msemwa, Permanent Secretary of the President's Office of Planning and Investment, told Sputnik Africa.

Msemwa underlined two objectives of the experts’ meeting:

🟠To assess the progress in implementing the agreement or arrangements reached two years ago;
🟠To identify new areas for cooperation.

After the expert talks, the main ministerial session will take place, followed by a business forum on Friday bringing together Tanzanian and Russian entrepreneurs.
