Tanzania's President Appoints Opposition Leader as Deputy Minister on Merit, Calls for National Unity

Samia Suluhu Hassan appointed former NCCR-Mageuzi Secretary General Evaline Munisi as Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Office (Labor, Employment, and Relations), citing her competence and commitment to national service.

"We are all Tanzanians; let us build our country together," the president said during the swearing-in ceremony, stressing that the oath carries moral weight before God, not just procedural formality.

Hassan tasked Munisi with:

🟠ensuring decent jobs;
🟠strengthening labor practices;
🟠better regulating overseas employment, where over 7,000 young Tanzanians have secured jobs this year.
