China Unveils World’s First Driverless Mining Truck – The 100‑Tonne Shuanglin K7
The Shuanglin K7 is designed to operate in tight, narrow pits where conventional trucks struggle to turn, according to the SCMP.
Its distributed electric drive‑by‑wire corner module enables “crab‑walking” sideways and pivoting on the spot.
Key features:
🟠Payload: 158 tons
🟠Battery swap: 5 minutes
🟠Regenerative braking – maintains 70% hauling capacity even if part of the system fails
Results:
35% higher transport efficiency
90% fewer safety incidents
