City of Moscow Unveils Its Largest Trade Partners in Africa in 2026
Supported exports from Moscow-based companies to African countries increased 52 times in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the same period last year, according to the Moscow Export Center.
Key destinations:
Algeria accounted for 89% of total shipments, primarily food products
Nigeria emerged as another key market, with exports dominated by IT, telecommunications, and computer goods
In 2025, supported exports exceeded $29 million (2.2 billion rubles), representing year‑on‑year growth of over 37%. Electronics and electrical equipment comprised nearly 60% of the total.
Notable export projects facilitated by the MEC:
◻ Nutrient substrates for sustainable farming
◻ Smart sensors for livestock health (South Africa)
◻ Neural‑controlled limb prostheses (Sudan)
◻ Dietary supplements (Egypt)
