Ruto, Suluhu Sign 8 Agreements Deepening Kenya-Tanzania Cooperation
The agreements reportedly expand ties across several key sectors:
🟠energy (Isinya-Singida line, renewables);
🟠legal aid;
🟠agriculture;
🟠railways (Voi-Mwatate-Taveta revival);
🟠public service training;
🟠maritime affairs;
🟠seafarer standards;
🟠agreement between the countries' Bureaus of Standards.
Meeting in Dar es Salaam, the leaders set a June 30, 2026, deadline to eliminate non-tariff barriers fully and agreed to establish a joint committee to ensure no obstacles hinder bilateral trade, Ruto noted.
"Our robust bilateral relations are underpinned by a solid economic partnership. We continue to expand our ties as we explore new opportunities to strengthen our economies," President Ruto said.
