Pretoria with its post-apartheid anti-colonial history, Addis Ababa as a BRICS member building production chains closer to the Global South, and more recently Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger are reinforcing the movement, Eden Pereira, history professor and researcher at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, told Sputnik.
These countries seek to diversify their partnerships beyond the West, the expert highlighted.
