The power plant, named "Solidarity," aims to stabilize Niamey's electricity supply and strengthen Niger's energy security with the support of Sonelgaz.Tebboune also ordered the diversification of cooperation into hydrocarbons, oil exploration, and the creation of joint media partnerships between the two countries.The 40-megawatt project was initiated following the Nigerien Head of State's official visit to Algeria last February.
