Tanzania Becomes Strategic Producer of Helium: Minister

The country signed a landmark agreement with Helium One Global Limited, positioning itself as a future key supplier in a high-demand, low-competition market, according to Steven Kiruswa, Deputy Minister of Minerals.

Key facts about the project:

🟠Over $60 million already invested, with production expected within 18 months;

🟠The government will retain a 17% equity stake in the joint venture company;

🟠The project will generate employment, local supply chain activation, infrastructure improvements, and fiscal revenues.

"This is the true implementation of the philosophy [...] that the country's resources must be a source of national prosperity," said Steven Kiruswa.

Helium is irreplaceable in MRI technology, semiconductor manufacturing, aerospace, defense, fiber optics, and quantum computing, with global supply being currently dominated by the US and Qatar.
