Zimbabwe Sees 15% Surge in New Employers as Formal Jobs Hit 238K in 2025
New employment rose from 226,000 in 2024, according to the National Social Security Authority (NSSA). Over the past two years, Zimbabwe created more than 464,000 jobs cumulatively.
The rise in registered businesses and new jobs signals positive economic momentum, the Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency chief executive officer Charles Shava said.
“It shows that businesses are expanding and more Zimbabweans are entering formal employment.”
NSSA continues supporting workers and employers while strengthening labor protection frameworks, he added.
“As more employers register and formal employment expands, we are laying a stronger foundation for social security and long-term economic resilience,” Shava was quoted by a state news outlet as saying.
