Egyptian Ministry of Tourism & Antiquities Unveils New Artifacts in Alexandria
The findings present a comprehensive model of residential and service architecture evolution in the ancient city, Mohamed Abdel-Badie, head of the Egyptian Antiquities Sector, stressed.
The discoveries include:
🟠Remains of circular public bath (tholoi) from Late Byzantine era;
🟠Residential villa with mosaic floors;
🟠Advanced water facilities;
🟠Marble statues of Bacchus, Asclepius, and a beheaded Minerva figure;
🟠Coins, jars, pottery, and sealed amphora fragments
This discovery adds a valuable enhancement to Alexandria's archaeological record, underscoring the city's historical and civic significance as one of the Old World's leading cultural hubs, Tourism and Antiquities Minister Sherif Fathy noted.
