China Extends Zero Tariffs to All African Nations, Boosting Export Opportunities

Starting today, China will apply zero-tariff treatment to imports from all 53 African countries that have diplomatic ties with Beijing, reinforcing its commitment to shared development through the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).

🟠 The move opens the vast Chinese market wider for African exporters, particularly benefiting the 33 least developed countries that already enjoy full duty-free access.

🟠 For the remaining 20 African nations, a two-year zero-tariff arrangement will run through 2028, creating new opportunities to increase and diversify their exports.

🟠 By lowering trade barriers, China aims to:

▪strengthen economic ties with the continent;
▪support African industrial growth;
▪offer a stable, long-term market for African goods.

🟠 The initiative is part of broader efforts to promote economic partnership and mutual prosperity under the FOCAC framework.
