Africa Must Produce Finished Goods Locally to Avoid Becoming ‘Ghost Continent’: AU Ambassadorial Assembly Member
To boost intra-continental trade and drive economic development, South Africa and other African countries should prioritize local production of end products, Tshepo Motsepe told Sputnik Africa.
African nations must move away from the “explore-exploit-export” model and instead integrate with the global economy "in terms of the economic delivery" of the continent, she noted on the sidelines of an extraordinary session of the Pan-African Parliament (PAP), where a new PAP president was elected.
