Uganda to Launch New Oil Exploration Licensing Round Next Financial Year
This will be the third petroleum exploration licensing round offered in the financial year starting July, Energy Minister Ruth Nankabirwa announced at the 11th Oil and Gas Convention.
Uganda's estimated 6.5 billion barrels of reserves are all in the Albertine Graben along the DRC border, though the ministry says only 40% of that region has been explored.
Preliminary surveys are also underway in two new northern basins: Moroto-Kadam and Kyoga.
