Russian Exports to East Africa Rise Despite Western Sanctions
Where firms have set up payment and transit routes via friendly nations, shipments are moving and growth is visible across East Africa, head of marketing at Russian freight forwarder Growex Group Elena Zubkova told Sputnik.
The dynamics are driven by:
▪payment chains;
▪stability of logistics routes.
"The sanctions are more of an 'intimidation effect.' African countries don't have a direct ban on working with Russia, but freight forwarders in Kenya and Tanzania are still wary of cargo to and from Russia," she said.
