Mali Will Fight 'Until Total Eradication of Terrorism': Malian PM
"The fight for our dignity and honor is non-negotiable": these were the words Abdoulaye Maïga used to react to the simultaneous terrorist attacks that struck several locations across the country on Saturday.
According to him, Malian forces delivered a "resounding response" to the terrorists, neutralizing hundreds of them throughout the country.
The attackers' goal was to seize power by dismantling state institutions and halting the transition process, Maïga clarified.
It is obvious that these "cowardly and barbaric" acts were only possible thanks to "the support of external sponsors," he added.
▫ Maïga also paid tribute to the civilian and military victims of the attacks, particularly to Defense Minister Sadio Camara.
