DRC Politician Calls for Russian, Chinese & North Korean Support Amid Mali’s Security Crisis

Despite the reported death of the Minister of Defense, "Malian authorities have succeeded in neutralizing the terrorists and have at least been able to stabilize the situation, because as we speak, the situation is under control," Crispin Kabasele Tshimang Babanya, National President of the Union of Socialist Democrats and National Coordinator of the Antifascist International, told Sputnik Africa.

Speaking on the sidelines of the SOVINTERN forum in Moscow, the politician praised the Alliance of Sahel States, asserting that the AES leaders "have shown courage by making a complete break with neocolonialism."

"Countries and states such as Russia, states such as China, and states such as North Korea—these are the states that should come to our rescue."

He argued that Western-led destabilization efforts have placed most African states in a precarious position "that [they] cannot even lift a finger."
