'SOVINTERN Forum Can Become Important Ally for African Socialist Parties,' Congolese Official Says

Left-wing Africans are disappointed with organizations like the Socialist International and are watching with interest at the 1st forum of the SOVINTERN International Socialist Network, held in Moscow, Crispin Kabasele Tshimang Babanya, National President of the Union of Socialist Democrats, told Sputnik Africa.

"SOVINTERN [...] must contribute to the training of political cadres and socialist cadres, and must also become an important platform for the defense of the interests of the Global South," he explained on the sidelines of the forum.

The official also asked Sputnik to continue providing "real information," countering the disinformation and manipulation in many countries.

Media like Sputnik have a "large audience" in Africa because they report the "reality of the facts," he noted.
